All figures in AED, formula-computed (21 days/year for years 1–5, 30 days/year after; daily wage = basic ÷ 30; 24-month cap). Journalists and bloggers: free to cite or republish this table with a link to dailycaltor.com.

How to read the table

Find your basic salary (not total package) in the left column, then the column for your completed years. Between listed salaries, scale linearly: AED 11,000 basic sits exactly between the 10,000 and 12,000 rows. For part years and exact figures, use the interactive gratuity calculator or the free Excel version.

What the table shows about the law

Two patterns stand out. First, entitlements grow linearly with salary — doubling basic pay doubles gratuity at any tenure. Second, the growth per year accelerates after year five, when the accrual moves from 21 to 30 days: notice the gap between the 5-year and 7-year columns is proportionally larger than between 3 and 5. The 24-month cap only affects very long tenures — none of the combinations shown here reach it.

About this data

How were these figures calculated?

Using the statutory formula: daily wage (basic ÷ 30) × 21 days per year for the first five years and 30 days per year after, capped at 24 months of basic salary. Pure computation — no survey data.

Can I use this table in an article?

Yes — the table is free to cite or republish with a link to dailycaltor.com as the source.

Why does the rate jump after 5 years?

The law raises the accrual from 21 to 30 days of basic pay per year beyond year five, rewarding longer service.

Is gratuity based on total or basic salary?

Basic only — allowances for housing and transport are excluded, which is why the basic figure in your contract matters.
