How to calculate a discount
Multiply the price by the discount percentage to find the saving, then subtract it. A 25% discount on a $120 item saves $30, so you pay $90. To stack a second discount, apply it to the already-reduced price — two 20% discounts are not 40% off, because the second one is taken from the lower amount.

How do I calculate percentage off?
Saving = price × (percent ÷ 100). Final price = price − saving. This tool does both instantly and shows the effective total discount.
Do two discounts add up?
No. Stacked discounts multiply, not add. A 20% then 10% off is 28% total, not 30%, because the second is taken from the reduced price.
What is the original price before a discount?
Divide the sale price by (1 minus the discount as a decimal). A $90 item after 25% off was $90 ÷ 0.75 = $120.
